The Guns N’ Roses concert has reportedly been moved to a new venue and pushed back to Sunday due to weather concerns, a promoter said.
The “Paradise City” rockers were due to perform at Lapangan D in Senayan tonight but they were concerned that it would rain during the concert at the outdoor venue.
“They saw the heavy rain yesterday [Friday],” head of Jakarta tourism agency Arie Budiman told Detik.com. “The musicians were worried about the rain.”
They will now perform at the Meta Elang International Stadium in Ancol on Sunday night.
“It is true,” Vera, a staff member from the event and promotion department of Ancol Beach City where the stadium is located, told the Jakarta Globe. “We have been informed by the event organizer. We’re about to have a meeting about this.”
Jakarta police confirmed that the concert would be delayed due to weather problems and safety concerns of the artist.
“The concert of Guns N’ Roses that supposedly done tonight at field D in Senayan, has been delayed to tomorrow, Sunday, at the Mata Elang International Stadium (MEIS) Ancol,” spokesman of Jakarta police Sr. Comr. Rikwanto told Beritasatu.com.
“They were worried that the sound system might be struck by lightning. The committee also had the same worries.”
The traffic management center of Jakarta Police tweeted: “Music concert of Gun N’ Roses in Senayan will be delayed to Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at MEIS Ancol, North Jakarta
